Temple Anniversary 7th February Every Year

Commemorating 75+ Years of Devotion, Service & Spiritual Legacy

Sri Shirdi Sai Samaj, Bengaluru, humbly celebrates its Temple Anniversary on 6th and 7th February every year, honoring a journey of over 75 years rooted in the teachings, mission, and divine grace of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba.

Established in 1942 with the blessings of H.H. Shri Narasimha Swamiji, and guided by H.H. Sri Saipadananda Radhakrishna Swamiji, the Samaj began in a small room at Vyshya Hostel near Commercial Street and steadily blossomed into a sacred Mandir at Someshwarapura. The foundation stone was laid in 1970, and the Mandir was inaugurated in 1971, with the consecration of a majestic marble idol of Sri Sai Baba during the Mahakumbhabhishekam from February 4–7, 1986.

Each anniversary marks a celebration of Sai Baba’s core teachings—Shraddha (faith), Saburi (patience), and Seva (selfless service).

Maha Shivaratri

Maha Shivaratri, the Great Night of Lord Shiva, is one of the most auspicious and spiritually significant festivals observed at Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir with great devotion and reverence. This sacred night, dedicated to Lord Shiva, symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and ignorance.

The temple marks the occasion with special rituals, abhishekam, devotional chanting, and night-long bhajans, invoking the blessings of Lord Shiva for inner peace, well-being, and spiritual growth. Devotees gather in large numbers to participate in Shiva-Parvathi Pooja, Lingabhishekam, and Pradosha Seva, performed in accordance with Agama Shastra.

Lord Shiva, in the form of Sri Parvathi-Shiva Murthi seated on Nandi, is taken in a holy procession around the Mandir, radiating divine energy and grace. The divine atmosphere, filled with sacred chants of “Om Namah Shivaya,” offers devotees a rare opportunity to immerse themselves in devotion and reflection.

Rama Navami and Sri Sai Baba Jayanthi

Rama Navami, the sacred birth anniversary of Lord Sri Rama, is celebrated with grandeur and devotion at Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir every year. This divine occasion also holds special significance in Shirdi tradition, as Sri Sai Baba’s incarnation is believed to be closely associated with Rama Navami, marking a day of deep spiritual connection.

The Mandir is adorned with vibrant flowers and sacred lights as devotees gather to participate in Sri Rama Pattabhishekam, Sundarakanda Parayanam, Bhajans, and Sai Satcharitra readings, invoking the spirit of truth, dharma, and compassion that both Lord Rama and Sri Sai Baba embodied.

This day is a confluence of two divine energies – the Maryada Purushottama Lord Rama and the Universal Sadguru Sai Baba. The atmosphere is filled with bhakti as we celebrate Rama’s divine birth and Baba’s eternal message of love, unity, and surrender.

Guru Purnima

Guru Purnima, the most sacred day to express our reverence to the Guru, is celebrated with deep devotion and spiritual fervor at Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir every year. At this holy temple, where the spirit of Sai Baba’s teachings resonates through decades of service and devotion, Guru Purnima holds a special place in the hearts of all devotees.

On this auspicious day, the temple comes alive with Vyasa Pooja, Sathyanarayana Pooja, special bhajans, and spiritual discourses, commemorating the divine guidance of Sai Baba—the Sadguru who continues to light the path of millions. The celebration is not just a ritual, but a heartfelt tribute to the Guru who showed us the way of faith, patience, selfless service, and unity among all beings.

This event is a continuation of the Samaj’s mission, rooted in the vision of our spiritual elders including H.H. Shri Narasimha Swamiji and H.H. Shri Saipadananda Radhakrishna Swamiji, whose guidance shaped the values and services we uphold today. Over the decades, the temple has stood as a beacon of spiritual light, medical service, and social upliftment in line with Sai Baba’s message of “Sabka Malik Ek”.

Sri Sai Baba Mahasamadhi Day – Vijayadashami

Vijayadashami marks a day of profound significance for all devotees of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba, as it is on this sacred day in the year 1918 that Baba attained Maha Samadhi, leaving His mortal body and merging into the eternal.

At Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir, this day is observed with deep reverence, spiritual reflection, and heartfelt devotion. Maha Samadhi Day is not just a remembrance—it is a celebration of Baba’s divine presence, which continues to guide, bless, and uplift devotees even today.

The day begins with Kakada Aarti, Abhishekam, Alankaram, and special Poojas, followed by Sai Ashtothara Archana, Veda Parayanam, and Sai Satcharitra reading. In the spirit of Baba’s teachings of selfless service and compassion, Annadanam is offered to all, echoing His words, “Feeding the hungry is feeding Me.”
